Blending sessions in casa cavia
Blending sessions in casa cavia
Wine and cocktail experience in Buenos Aires.
Classic cocktails, wine by the glass and small plates to share on the patio of Casa Cavia.
Blending Sessions is a series of meetings that brings together leading figures from the world of wine and cocktails to explore, through technique and experimentation, the art of creating unique blends.
The experience is led by two of the house's hostesses: Flavia Arroyo, head bartender of Casa Cavia and a leading figure in the new Argentine cocktail scene thanks to his work with clarified spirits, and Partially Huck, head sommelier, distinguished as Sommelier of the Year by international critic Tim Atkin.
Each edition is an exercise in creation by eight hands.
Flavia and Delvis choose a wine and a cocktail as a starting point and invite a colleague from each world to design novel combinations that become a exclusive drinks menu.
More than a tasting, Blending Sessions functions as a A creative laboratory where the concept of blending—the mixing of wines or spirits—is taken to the experimental extreme.Sommeliers and bartenders combine their expertise to create ephemeral harmonies between wine and cocktails, accompanied by the flavors of the cuisine of Felix Babini, chef of Casa Cavia.
The series takes place every two months and brings together some of the most prominent names in the Argentine culinary scene. Past participants include: Paul Pignata, Ludovico de Biaggi, Mona Gallosi, Marcela Rienzo and Lucky Sosto, among other leading figures in the world of wine and cocktails.
Each edition is unique and happens only once.
Blending Sessions is part of the Casa Cavia's cultural and gastronomic program, the project that brings together cuisine, cocktails, wine, design and art in a historic house in Palermo, Buenos Aires.
